Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium is such a neat place to visit! If you are in Gatlinburg, Ripley’s is a place you MUST visit. My family and I spent the most time here at the Odditorium and every second was filled with amazement and excitement. Ripley’s Believe It or Not stands apart from other Gatlinburg attractions because its 12, 500 square feet, features 500 of the strangest and unique exhibits and artifacts that you’ll find in the Smoky Mountains. With 16 curious themed galleries and 3 floors!
Right when you walk in you stand in front of a life-size statue of the “Mexican Vampire Woman” and the “Lizard Man”. The world’s strangest people. These statues look so unbelievably real, its scary.
As if the two strangest people weren’t enough to make your jaw drop right away, over to the right you find a 12ft tall Transformer sculpture made of scrap car parts!

Also pretty darn cool is a 300 lb. bike made completely out of bones!

You’ll see awesome animal oddities like two-headed animals, the Merman, the world’s rarest egg, an ostrich skeleton and more at the largest collection of unique animal oddities.

Ripley’s Believe It or Not also has an entire level of interactive exhibits on the 3rd floor, including a giant Lite Brite and “Operation” style game for kids of all ages to enjoy. My kids enjoyed the giant Lite Brite, as you can see they have giant bins of the pegs and kids can go to town creating any design they want.

On the 3rd floor of interactive activities what really caught our eye was the Wax Hands exhibit. My hubby and I decided to have our hands waxed together. It was a fun experience getting to create wax figures of our hands. It turned out perfect…until I accidently smushed it & it stuck to the plastic box in the car on the way home (sad face!)

We enjoyed the 3rd floor a lot as you can see. They have a shadow wall that we all took turns posing and doing funny things by.

We had to take advantage of the great picture opportunities. Every time someone visits Ripley’s I always see them in this giant chair and I always said I’d get a picture in this chair one day! I did finally! 🙂

Did I mention already how COOL this place is!? I wish I recorded our entire walk through just so I could count how many times we said “WOW”, “Oh my gosh”, and “NO WAY”. There is so many more pictures I have and I wish I could post every one of them, but this is a place you just have to see to believe! From the one-of-a-kind artwork, tons more hands-on interactives, and a wicked spinning vortex tunnel that takes you into a rain forest/dinosaur world with a killer waterfall. You must visit Ripley’s Believe It or Not. While you’re here you can even see a hologram of Mr. Ripley himself!

  4. I visited one of these places when i was on vacation in Mexico. I was surprised to see that they had one there. But its really cool 🙂

  5. I love this place. It is so cool!!! I never knew Ripley museum existed. Wish it were closer but will keep it in mind if I’m ever out that way. I love the pic of you in the super sized chair.

  6. The optimus prime looked amazing as do all the exhibits. There seems to be a program error with the Rafflecopter this evening. I completed the three Pinterest, the two you tubes, the Picket Fence Vote , going to the Scentsy Site, entering your other giveaways and three of the others and it would not allow me to enter the task has having been completed. I was able to do a few before the problem seems to have arisen but that may be why there are not as many entries which is why I share this.

  7. I went to the Ripley’s Believe It or Not Odditorium in Gatlinburg a few years back. I didn’t see the wax hands when I went or else I would have made one. I guess I’ll have to make a point to stop the next time I’m in Gatlinburg!

  8. I’m a huge fan of the Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Museums, and I’ve actually been to the Gatlinburg one as well. I really enjoyed revisiting it with you through this delightful review since I haven’t seen it since 2008. Great pictures! I loved the scrap metal Optimus Prime. That is too cool. It looks like you guys had a lot of fun 🙂
