If you’re looking for a great family vacation I highly recommend all of the Ripley’s attractions in Pigeon Forge Tennessee.
We recently took a weekend trip to Gatlinburg to explore and decided to ensure we had a great time to visit all of the Ripley’s attractions that we could.. starting with the Aquarium.
When you arrive at the Aquarium you are met with a giant fish tank and huge turtle skeleton, which is amazing to see.
We took note of the sign that informed us the times when all of the shows would be performed.
The kids can see the view of the expansive play area from above, as well.
My 4 year old was most excited for the play area (haha). We walked through the amazing exhibits and arrived to my favorite part of the Aquarium, the shark lagoon! I love that all you have to do is stand on the automatic conveyor belt and it takes you through the beautiful underwater tunnel.
The views are breathtaking. There are so many cool creatures swimming around from the saw fish, to the barracudas, and even Sally the sea turtle graced us with her presence. After the tunnel we explored the gift shop while we waited for the Mermaid show to begin. My kids picked out some adorable stuffed animals to cuddle and they even had Pop Its in the gift shop.. if you know, you know!
The mermaid show was a blast! My 4 year old was in complete awe the whole show. It was so sweet, the mermaids even stayed afterwards to take pictures with the guests.
Afterwards we were hungry so we went to have lunch in the cafeteria area. The food was awesome, but nothing beats the view we had of the stingray bay while we ate lunch. There was also a dive show with the stingrays which was very educational and adorable. My oldest found a very strong love for the stingrays during our visit.
She didn’t want to leave the tank.. but we had to make it to get a spot to see the Penguin march. Oh my goodness y’all, if you thought penguins were adorable before, you’ve never seen them waddle in a row right in front of you. One of the Penguin’s stopped right in front of my daughter and looked like she was saying hi to her. It was too cute for words!
I could have stayed at the Aquarium all day long and been completely happy but there was so much more to explore outside of the Aquarium.
Next we went to Ripley’s Believe it or not
This was my oldest daughter’s favorite attraction of all. She loves all of the crazy mysterious things in the world, so Ripley’s Believe it or Not was perfect for her. This attraction never fails to amaze me. There are so many cool hands on things to here for kids and adults alike. One of our favorite exhibits was the microscopic artwork by Willard Wigan. The art was amazing and it was so cool to view each piece through the microscope. Another very neat experience is the rope bridge and the shadow room! In the shadow room the kids had a blast striking silly poses and then seeing them froze on the wall. There was also a pin art structure that was hilarious to watch the kids make silly poses in.
Next I let my hubby take our two oldest kids to experience Ripley’s Haunted Adventure. I like to stay as far away from haunted houses as I possibly can, so my little one and I did some shopping in the Ripley’s gift shop/arcade while we waited for them. My husband enjoyed the Haunted Adventure. My kids on the other hand, one was crying and one said they would never go in a haunted house again… so I’d say it was plenty scary (🤣).
Next we went to the Ripley’s Mirror Maze. Talk about a thrill! This was a lot of fun. My
Kids thought the lighting in the star part of the maze was amazing, my husband said it looked like you were in a galactic wormhole! My son wanted to do the maze again and again.
There was 2 very large outdoor mini golf courses. We only had the time to do one of the courses so we chose to do the Davy Crockett course. This course was fantastic for the whole family, even a 4 year old. One of the holes had a challenge wheel, you spin the wheel to determine how you have to putt your ball. I landed on “between your legs”, each kid landed on either “with your foot”, or “On one leg” and my husband had to putt with his eyes closed 🤣 this challenge added extra fun to this particular hole. My kids loved that one of the holes towards the end of the course allowed your ball to travel through a long water trough. My ball ended up going through and making a hole in one!!! My little one adored that the animals around the course were talking.
We absolutely can not wait to make this trip a yearly tradition. It’s unbelievable how much fun we had and the memories we made. I love that Ripley’s had multiple attractions and they exceeded every single one of our expectations.
Go ahead, plan the trip! You won’t regret it, and your family will thank you. My kiddos and husband haven’t quit mentioning the highlights of our fun day.
You can purchase your tickets here.. you can also choose how many attractions you’d like to add by buying a combo pack. There are multiple options to choose from that meets your family’s needs.
